Just another Day and just another Outfit

Hi everyone :)

I am kind of loosing track of time here. I have no clue what day it is today which is why I have no clue what the theme for today is.

Oh hang on, it's Wednesday right? I could be completely wrong here and it could be Thursday but I'm just gonna write about fashion anyway :)

The other day I read a blog post by Kandee Johnson about the way we dress and I got inspired by it.
We, each and every one of us, have a different style. You can not tell me that there are two people with the same style as there are no two people in this world who even look the same. Yes we might have the same fashion idols but still everyone makes something different with it and takes something different away from it.
Do we each have our own individual style and that is a good thing. No one should be there to tell us that what we dress as is not appropriate, 'as you are classy and covering up what should be kept private' just like Kandee says in the post on her blog.

So why do we feel intimidated, to a point where we don't wear stuff anymore, by people who say they don't like what we are wearing?
Why is it that we feel like everyone is staring at us whenever we try something new.
And why do we feel the need to defend ourselves for the clothes we have?
I personally have gotten to a point where I can say: I am comfortable with myself and what I wear and I honestly don't give a f*** about people who don't like the way I dress.
I mean that should be their problem we can not let our style be determined by other people.
The stuff we wear represents us after all. Our style is a way of expressing ourselves. There is a reason why people say that clothes make people.

I think a outfit says a lot about someone personality even if people might find that a bit harsh. Because I have been told before that they feel like I was judging them on the basis of what they were wearing.
NOT WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY!!
I don't judge anyone. Not on what they are wearing and not on their personality. If I don't like someones personality I will just not spend time with them and tell them very nicely that they are just not my kind of person. And that is okay! We are not expected to get along with everyone.

But back to clothes:
I don't think I am ever in a position to tell someone that the way they dress is not appropriate (as long as their boobs are not hanging out that is).
A persons style is just as much free as their opinion is. So it is okay to say: I don't like what you wear in a sense that I would never wear it myself. But you can not tell them it is not okay to wear it just because you don't like it.
I mean how boring would it be if everyone just wore the same thing. That would be like everyone looking the same.

I don't even think I have a particular style at least not unless wearing whatever you feel like is suddenly considered a style :D
Most days I just wear a pair of Vans, with jeans that I roll up to my ankles, mostly combined with a Johnny Cupcakes t-shirt and a leather jacket. If it's cold I'll wear a scarf with it.

So just wear what you like and tell people who don't like it kindly to f*** off.
Don't feel like you have to defend what you are wearing and people who criticize your style should definitely worry about their own life, because why would you spend time on telling someone you don't like what they do when you could use that time to tell someone else how great they are?
Be confident because there will always be people who don't like what you do, nothing you can do about it. It is how you react to it that counts. And someone criticizing what you wear should not cause you to question yourself! Stand up for yourself and what you like, which includes you choice of clothing.

Just be nice to people and avoid the ones you don't get along with. Hate has never gotten anyone anywhere, might as well save the time.

And just at the end I would like all of you to read the blog post that inspired me to write this: So you're gonna say something about how I dress?
It is really good and so is the rest of her blog :)
Blog recommendation everyone :D
Also while you're at it: Go check out her YouTube channel :)

Enjoy your night and maybe try to wear the outfit you were never sure about tomorrow!

Pure Entertainment

Hi everyone :)

So I thought since it is getting into the winter kind off time again and everything turns grey that we should all have a laugh together.
This caused me to go through the never ending world of YouTube to find the most entertaining things possible. Some might be old some you might have not seen before but even if you have most of these are just so good you can watch them over and over again!

I know this video has about 97 million view but hey maybe you haven't seen it yet :D

This next one never fails to make me laugh. If you start watching it over and over again from 0:19 it gets even more hilarious... promised!

If you don't know Remi Gaillard you should really go research him he does some awesome stuff, just like this:

And the all time favourite:

And this one is just.... I don't even know what it is. Disturbing maybe? See for yourself :D

And if you don't know this one then you really have been missing out :D These are originally vines but someone put them together and made a YouTube video

Oh my good I can't... this is too good. We just rediscovered this it is brilliant.

If you manage not too laugh you are a robot!

Enjoy :)

Going Clubbing

Hi everyone :)

I'm fairly certain that most of you have been to a club before with friend for a night out what I'm not so sure about is the fact that you have found the right kind of music for you.

I know there is a lot of different clubs out there that play different kinds of music but let's be honest most of that stuff is mainstream party music that everyone can dance to. And I'm not saying that there is something wrong with that, I enjoy that too. I like going clubbing with friends to the more well know music but it's not quite the same as going clubbing to the kind of music that you can feel everywhere.
I have figured that out about a year ago when one of my flatmates took me with him to a dubstep/dancehall/reggae kind of thing. I had never been to a club with that kind of music before and I had no idea what would happen.
I was not prepared to have the best night of my life! We got there and he was gone the second we walked in. That always happens when you go somewhere with him, cause he seems to know everyone. Don't ask me how he does that :) But somehow him being gone wasn't as terrifying as I thought it would be. The music was great and I suddenly didn't give a fuck anymore about not having someone I knew next to me. The music dragged me in and dancing was so easy in that moment.
I can't really describe the feeling but it was amazing, it felt like I lost control over my body and my movements. I didn't care how it looked and the great thing was that no one else did either.
You can not only tell that by the way no one is staring at you but also simply due to the fact that everyone just wears what they are comfortable in. I had never been clubbing with Chuck's, jeans and t-shirt before. I looked more like I was going to a festival but that didn't matter either.

This kind of music is the one that you can not sit still to. You have to get up and moving and I have never felt like that before.
It was great to dance till exhaustion, till 5 in the morning when the club closed. We were all sweaty and tired but felt strangely at peace with ourselves.
I know this all might sound utterly weird to you but I loved it.
When we got home we just fell into our beds. When I got up in the morning and after a shower I felt refreshed like I never have after a night out.

Last Wednesday we went to a 'party' like that again and it was exactly the same. At first I didn't feel like going out but as soon as we got there and the music sucked us in it was bound to be a good night. It also happened to be a little concert, with one of the artists that we all knew quite well and I got introduced to by my flatmates, which made it even better.

It is German but I hope you can enjoy it anyway :)

I love this kind of music to go out too. Try it if you haven't found the kind of music that you can feel everywhere yet. It might just be this kind of thing :)
Or it might not but chase it till you find it because it is priceless!

Oktoberfest

Hi everyone :)

I am almost 22 and I have never been to Oktoberfest, not until Friday that is.
On Friday my lovely flatmate decided it was time for me to loose my Oktoberfest - virginity, or he just didn't want to go alone, which ever you prefer :D

So after I was done with work on Friday, I made some dinner for us and we took of on our way to Munich. We took the train, then a tram and walked a bit till we arrived.
The first impression was overwhelming, there were so many people all walking into one direction and light flashing everywhere that I felt like I was being run over. It was a lot to take in and definitely felt like a sensory overload but strange enough that is something you get used to quite quickly.

There was lights everywhere and people running into you. Drunk most of the time, which is the reason why I though I should not be going. I don't drink so I imagined going to be quite weird, because I don't cope with drunk people very well at least not unless I have been drinking myself, which I haven't been for 2 years now.
But again I it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. And to be quite honest Oktoberfest is just like a giant funfair with a lot of drunk people and a lot of huge tents that you can get drunk at.
Oh and lets not forget all of the places you can get all kinds of food at and sweets obviously :D We had a lot of both haha

yes I did have candy floss again
And I am not one bit ashamed of it :) Or the fact that we went on a lot of different rides.

Like this giant merry-go-round high up in the air. It looked like a good idea to begin with but once we were going up I wasn't so sure of it anymore :D

our shoes :) YeaH!! Lets GO!
It was great though a bit scary at first but nonetheless great. You had a great view over Munich and who doesn't love merry-go-rounds?
Also the ticket's we got were quite cool and the had build the whole thing a bit like a airport and the merry-go-round was the plane. Hint's the look of the ticket:

the date is obviously wrong though :D

We did have a lot of fun even though we only stayed for about 3 hours and didn't get drunk :)

So thank you to my flatmate for 'dragging' me along and proving me wrong. Oktoberfest did not at all turn out like I had expected it to be.

meet P.

Meet the person I have to thank for a great night with a lot of fun :) First person aside from my parents that you meet on here if I am not mistaken.
This was right before we went on a ride called hell lightning and OMG I can tell you this ride is nothing for people with a heart condition or people who don't react well to flashing light.

The whole thing is set up to like like a bit of a Indiana Jones adventure and they are actually playing the theme song of the movies as well, but ones you get inside it is completely different. We had no clue what we were in for.
You get inside and it is dark that is the only thing you see, that is until there is laser lights everywhere and dust and it looks really cool and the next thing you know you are suddenly spinning in your carriage. It was crazy, sudden unexpected movements, the tracks right in front of your nose came out of no where most of the time and then we were racing towards the walls and it was to dark to see the tracks. We were then spun around before reaching the wall and facing the people in front of us who looked just as startled as we did. I screamed a lot and laughed at the same time. It was soo cool.

I felt like a child in a candy store the whole time and I can now say I am a fan of Oktoberfest and will most definitely go again even though I don't drink.

But I will probably never go on a free fall tower again. If you don't know what that is google it! It's basically a thing where you get pulled up 60 meters in the air and then get dropped, over and over again. The next time you see one I dare you to go on it.
For me it was a ride that made me feel like throwing up constantly but it never happened. I liked it for the time being but I don't think I can find the braver within me to do it again :D haha

So if you live near Munich and have never been to Oktoberfest don't wait till your almost 22 it is really cool :)

Going to the Theater II

Hi everyone :)

If you haven't read part I you should most definitely do so :)

The castle was amazing but so was my dad's play.

My dad has been directing play's ever since I can remember. He was out schools drama teacher and the first time I was on stage was when I was just 6 I think. I loved it and still do. The theater is my dad's and I's world, we used to live for it. Now that I have moved out and have gone to uni I can't take part in his play's anymore but I try to go see all of them.

So when he told me that the premier of his newest one was at the weekend that I came back from New Zealand, I more then happily agreed to come.

The premiere was sold out and the even had to add a couple of more chairs, which we were all very happy about. My dad always puts all his heart into his productions and it is just nice to see that all his hard work pays off in the end.

The play is about the castle of Bruchsal and it's history. The process of building it in 1720 and how it got destroyed in March 1945. Most of it burned down after the bombing of Bruchsal during the II World War but it was decided that the main part of the building would be reconstructed. It took till the late 1970s till they were finished and turned it into a museum.

My dad playing a teacher who shows his pupils around the castle in the time leading up to it's destruction in 1945.

And the prince-archbishop Damian in the background.

Damian with a worm that embodies all the problem's he faces with the building the castle.

We also switched showplaces during the play and got taken into the chapel royal that got reconstructed on the outside but the inside was modernized very beautifully.

The teacher my dad embodied was his father. My granddad helped to clear the chapel after the bombing with one of his classes he was teaching because the castle and all that came with it meant a lot to him.

The priest, who was responsible for the chapel royal, was so grateful for that and wanted to give something back. Obviously it was in the midst of the post-war years and he didn't have any money so he gave my granddad this:

It is the head of an angel statue that used to stand in the chapel. I grew up with this angel sitting on a shelf in my dad's study and knew it was a heirloom but I never had a clue as to where it came from.

This angle's head is worth a lot to my family which is why we would never give it away to a museum. It was given to my granddad for the great work he did in trying to help rebuild the chapel royal and that can never be offset by money.

The play was truly great. For me personally because it also told a bit of my families story that I hadn't heard of before for everyone else because of the pictures it created and the way it brought history to life.

Going to the Theater

Hi everyone :)

Since our internet decided that it was acceptable behavior to die on us yesterday I was not able to update my blog. So I'm doing it now being a crap friend that only goes to see their friend to abuse their internet :D
...
Okay that is a lie I also brought her pizza :D

During the time I stayed with my parents, after I came back from new Zealand, I went to the theater with my whole family.
Well it wasn't exactly a theater but a castle that a play was held at, one that my dad wrote and took part in, so: Go Dad!

My dad chose this place because of it's history and what it means to him, which is a lot. He was born in Bruchsal, spend the first years of his life there and experienced the aftermath of the II World War there ( my dad was born in 1946 so just a year after the II World War had ended).
So the place his play was about and took part in is the castle of Bruchsal.

layout: Caste of Bruchsal

It also has a beautiful garden but we didn't go and look at it this time round.

The caste is amazing and my dad took us there more than once although the first time I was only a baby, so I don't remember much of it :P
The second time however is a clear memory. I love this place because of it's partly simple beauty and in other parts ridiculousness of splendour.

It was built in 1720 at the desire of Damian Hugo Philipp from Schönborn-Buchheim a prince-archbishop and is one of the many baroque styles palaces in Germany. Damian wanted a pompous castle but at the same time save money which is why most of the relief on the pillars is painted on instead of buying more expensive pillars.

it looks very real but is in fact drawn on
But he didn't put aside with other parts of the castle for example the staircases. Their architecture is incredible, they have built them this particular way so they could fit in a smaller mezzanine, in between the first floor and the grand hall on the 'second' floor, for servants.

The second floor is designed with such detail it truly is amazing and you fell like you will never be able to see it all.

The pillars on the walls surrounding the staircase are made from colourful marble. I absolutely love them.
when I first saw this my mind was blown. It is so gorgeous and has such a different character to every other building and castle I have ever seen

This is the view into the grand hall from the platform, which almost feels like a standing on a balcony, that they have built so the staircases don't end in nothingness and it is symmetrical as well. Above the platform is a beautiful ceiling fresco.

I remember being in the castel with my dad when I was younger and saying to my dad that I would love to lie on the floor so I could get a proper look at it. My dad obviously wouldn't let me because there were loads of people around and it nowadays is a museum after all, so no lying on the floor for me.
But since I am a very cheeky person and don't like rules that much, especially when I don't think that any harm is done if don't follow them, I did lie down this time.
It was 10.30 pm and no one, apart form the view people that had stayed after the play, was there and those were all people I knew and had since I was about 6.
So I didn't really see a reason why I should not be able to do it.
I lay there for quite a bit just admiring the painting above me. I can highly recommend that technique if you want to get a proper look at a ceiling fresco without getting a stiff neck from doing so :)

More about the history, which is directly linked to the play, tomorrow :) For now enjoy the pictures and look forward to tomorrows post!

A Walk through the Forest

Hi everyone :)

After I came back from New Zealand I spend a couple of days at home to cute my jet lag and catch up with my family.
All of you probably have these rituals with your parents mostly from back when you were little. Well the thing I always liked to do and now occasionally do whenever I am home is going for a nice long walk with my mum. Sharing the newest gossip, bitching about all the old ladies in our village that only keep complaining about their health as soon as they open their mouth and just generally catching up. So since last Friday was a nice day and I probably had the worst headache ever, spending a  bit of time outside seemed like a good idea.
Recently my mum has really gotten into collecting mushrooms and is very good with telling them apart. She knows which ones are edible, poisonous or just not that tasty but technically edible, which is why we decided that we wanted to try to find some. It is the right time and the weather conditions over the last couple of days had been ideal and we were positive that we would find some.
My mum had taken it into her head that she had to find a penny bun so we set off on our little mushroom collecting adventure.

At the beginning we only found poisonous ones which was very frustrating.

this one is called amanita and is deadly. The poison in it attacks the liver and in most cases by the time the poisoning is discovered it is to late
The whole forest was full with this particular mushroom but we found the so highly wanted penny bun as well. We even found more then one which made my mum very happy :)

here is the world famous penny bun :D

and that is my mums hand putting the mushrooms in order for a good picture because they can't pose on their own :D Her words not mine :P

These mushrooms taste really good if you make like an omelette with them, which is exactly what we did. Just clean them cut them up and add some whisked eggs: Ta-da done :D

We went out to find some more mushrooms on sunday and were equally as successful

these smell like anise and are a type of champignon

You have to look out cause if this mushroom dosn't turn yellow when you squeeze it it's very likely to be a non edible one and poisonous as well.

But we are still alive and ours did turn yellow :)

This looks like a lot to eat but what the actually portion left for eating looked like this :

It is the same plate by the way :D

So if you ever get the chance to go and collect mushrooms I really suggest you do because I sure had a lot of fun. Do go with someone who knows their stuff though cause I wouldn't want to be responsible for killing my readers!
